Hugh Miller’s Bio

At his core, Hugh is a renaissance man and a promoter. He is a trusted advisor to many incredible and successful brands that value his ideas and ability to deliver.

After attending Boston University and Rutgers Law School, where he promoted concerts, lectures and parties, Hugh began his post-graduate career as a publicist in the music industry working with a diverse roster of artists and companies including members of Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band, The Eagles, Steely Dan and Moody Blues and product manufacturers Marshall, Korg and Yamaha just to name a few. Four years later, as Vice President, Management Supervisor of Grey Advertising’s entertainment division, he spearheaded advertising for clients Time-Warner Music Group, the New York Yankees, Barbados Tourism, New York Telephone’s sponsorship of the arts, WNEW-FM radio, numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and Madison Square Garden.

Hugh’s close association with Madison Square Garden (New York Knicks, New York Rangers, MSG Network, MSG Entertainment) and the New York Yankees helped lead him to found Hollyrock/Miller, originally as a New York agency specializing in sports and entertainment.

Following a quality of life move to New Jersey, Hollyrock/Miller diversified its roster to include retailers (The WIZ, Karl’s Appliance, Thomasville Furniture), financial services (Dime Savings Bank, Meyer Chatfield), restaurants, nightclubs, spas and hotels (Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Hyatt, Westin, Hilton, Ramada, Howard Johnson), professional services (the law offices of Stark & Stark, Martin, Kane, Kuper, Szaferman/Lakind, Mazie/Katz), corporations (Cablevision, Cendant), healthcare  providers (Corneal Associates of New Jersey, Wills Laser Vision at Princeton, Princeton Eye Group, Princeton Brain & Spine Care, Princeton Allergy Partners, Hartzband Joint Replacement, NJ Center for Prostate Cancer & Urology), non-profits (Prevent Child Abuse, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), International House Philadelphia) and many others.

Combining a passion for golf, and experience in hospitality and entertainment, Hugh and his team developed a niche specialty working with golf and country clubs throughout the region. These have included Fiddler’s Elbow, Cherry Valley CC, Essex Fells CC, Shackamaxon CC, Forsgate CC, Panther Valley CC, Ramsey CC, Black Oak Golf Club, Essex County CC, North Jersey CC, Metuchen Golf & Country Club and others in New Jersey, as well as clubs in New York, Pennsylvania and Florida.

Hugh’s philosophy is to do “whatever it takes” to facilitate the objectives of his clients and to do so in a very personal way. He is highly respected within the advertising, public relations and private events communities and a recognized “first call” expert with respect to media, entertainment and advertising trends. He is also a Board Member and Vice President of the New Jersey Golf Foundation, the charitable arm of the NJPGA. Hugh has often been featured in local, regional and national media.
